To be effective grantmaking partners, introducing efficiencies in our work is essential. However, to truly excel, we must ensure that equitable principles and critical thinking are integral to our processes. This session explores the balance between automation and equity in philanthropy and its practical implementation in Fluxx. As a use case, we will highlight challenges and solutions related to using publicly available data for grantee financial reviews and the necessary critical examination of automation results. We will showcase Surdna Foundation's financial review workflow in Fluxx, including a demonstration of user and admin views, and how they embedded an equity lens within their process.
